I was stupid and held an iPhone for a friend. I didn't ask why or nothing just did it. Next day I have the cops going threw my stuff. The phone was stolen. I got in trouble because it was in my house. I have to go to court for it next month.Am I going to jail? I just turned 18. The phone is only worth $300 at max. I have never gotten in Trouble like this before. Just a speeding ticket. I just want to know if I'm going to jail.
You probably won't go to jail. That would be really unreasonable.

If thats your first criminal offense then you might just get probation

No, you will not go to jail. Unless it was a burglary, they may just give you community service or probation. If your story is true, you need to find your friend otherwise no one will believe you. You will get in trouble for your friend.

Having no prior offenses contributes to your defense and if convicted you are more likely to get a minimum sentence such as probation. The reason you were holding the phone for a friend will make a big difference as to whether they believe you. If your story sounds like bunk they are more likely to press charges. Having said "my friend left it at my house they might have forgot it" sounds more reasonable then "my friend gave it to me to hold for them". Most people consider it unreasonable for someone to leave an item with someone else for no reason at all.
