Will my iphone 4 work in Australia?
I just bought an iPhone 4 and will be traveling from the US to Australia. Will I be able to make the occasional call with my iPhone? My provider is Sprint. I understand it may be expensive per minute, but I just want to know if upon arrival I can step out of the airport dial a friend in Australia's number and it will go through. If not, what do I need to do to make this happen?
Yup. It should work just fine. It will be pretty expensive though, if you are on international roaming. Why don't you both install the app Viber and you can have free calls and text to each other with that.
You could also use a public phone at the airport if you preferred.
Yes it will work but as the other poster said it will be expensive.
A friend of mine from the US visits Aust about once a year (has iPhone 4s). The first thing he does is buy a local pre-paid SIM for use within Aust. A lot cheaper then paying international roaming fees. Of course it all depends on how long you are staying and how many calls you make
