Will my iPhone 4s work in Mexico?

I understand it is a 2g network there. I'm staying there for 5 months and will need my phone to contact people. Should I not bother with the 4s and just buy a phone there?

It does work if you are on AT&T you will be connected to Telcel. But texting and calling will cost. I don't know about other US cell phone companies.

Yes, your service will work but you will be charged international fees. Btw Telcel (or whatever the telephone mega-corporation over there's called) has one of the highest cellphone fees in the WORLD, so I would watch your data usage
