Will my iPhone work in Europe?
I have a Verizon Wireless (US) iPhone 5s. I plan on going to the UK and traveling throughout Europe with this phone. Will it work over there on a UK plan, or will I have to purchase a different phone?
The phone isn't the problem, Big Red Verizon is. You'll have to speak with them and 'add on' and international plan for the duration of time you are gone. They will then reprogram your sim card to work on Europe's networks that they partner with while you are there. Be advised it's not as cheap as you'd like it to be. Have family that travels international for business 1-2 times a year and they do it all the time. Best luck.
- Would the iPhone 5 work in Europe? My friend from Europe told me that the 32GB iPhone 5 is around 1300 $. I compared the price of the iPhone in the USA and it's around 850$ so my question is… If he was to buy the iPhone 5 here would it still work in Europe? Meaning, the charger and the outlets (different volts? I don't know about the layout of the outlets/plug required) Unlocking it? Being able to use it?
