Will my Verizon Iphone 4 Work in Toronto, Canada?

I have a new iphone 4S with Verizon I just got in August 2012, and the contract doesn't end for another year, however we're moving to Canada in about a week. Will the cost be the same if I use my iphone there, or is there a way I can trade it with an unblocked one, or not pay international fees?

No, you can't. At the rate of $ 1.75 (and up) per minute you will soon be looking at the poorhouse.

You probably have it on a contract (three years?) and will have to break the contract and pay the "horrible" and non negotiable "exit-fee" written in VERY small text in your contract.

Now you own the phone. You are free to join any of the Canadian networks (Fido and Rogers have THE BEST coast to coast coverage) as a "free agent", no need for a contract. Don't EVER let you be talked into a contract. You own your own phone. Buy a cheap month to month plan. NO CONTRACT. You can start at $ 25 and go up from there.

They will then give you a new sim-card, worth $ 10 and a new Canadian number and off you go.
