Will Otterbox replace my damaged device?

I've had my iPhone 5 for only a few months now, but the otterbox is about a year old. My iPhone has been through everything with me, drops, scratches, water, etc. Today my phone was knocked out of my hand with the defender case on and it shattered completely. Pieces are actually falling off. I'm getting a new phone, but will otterbox replace this one since it was in one of their cases so I don't have to cover the cost on my own?

The guy at Rogers said if it's under 2 years old than they will replace the phone.

Nope. That's one of the biggest misconceptions about cases. They will protect your phone, but even so, your phone can still break. So yeah, no matter who made the case, otter box (yeah, they have a good reputation), your phone still has a chance of breaking. Think about it this way, you phones chance of cracking is, lets say 40 percent chance of cracking/ breaking. You add a random case, maybe the chances are now 30 percent. With an otter box, you chances of breaking or cracking your phone may be 18 percent. See, just because you have a case, you phone can still break. Ps, the percents were made up numbers. So yeah. Sorry about it, you can email otterbox, but i'm sure they probably have some tricky warranty thing that prevents them from buying you a new phone. So yeah, cases do not 100 percent prevent a phone from breaking, and contact otterbox. But i highly doubt you will win the case. Sorry

  • Would Otterbox replace my case? Ok my iphone 4 was stolen out of my locker and my case was on it. I received the case with a holder about 3 months ago. Will otterbox replace my case? If so how can i explain it to them so i can get another 1? P.S i got iphone back but theif did something with case i have no idea what he did. I really need another case before something happens to my phone

  • Will my jailbreak on one device transfer to another device via iTunes? So I bought an iPhone 5 today and I'm afraid to sync it to my Apple ID/ iTunes because my 8GB iPod is also synced to that iTunes account and its jailbroken. I don't want my jailbroken iPod to affect my iPhone 5. Will it affect it? I don't think it will but I just want to make sure before I sync it for the first time.
