Will resetting my iphone get rid of any viruses?

Hi. I have an iphone 5 and I think it got a virus. I reset and erased and content and settings and its back to factory settings. So by doing that if there was a virus it should be gone, right?

If you did a restore, hooking it up to the computer and everything, it will have reset EVERYTHING and it should have no virus. A lot of people, I'm not saying this will be you, tend to restore from a back-up after restoring their iphone. This will simply put the virus back on their iphone. Just start as a new iphone and reset everything up ( you can use old itunes account).

someone hacked my iphone with viruses if i reset and erase all my information does it get rid of the problem?

  • Will resetting iPhone from Settings menu clear the viruses? I bought an iPhone second-hand. The previous owner claimed that it had a "virus". I know a virus on an iPhone is very unlikely, but considering I'm planning on using this iPhone to check my bank account, I want to make sure there are no viruses. I have Linux, and iTunes is not available for Linux, so I can't restore with iTunes. Would going to Settings and resetting it get rid of this "virus"?
  • Will I get viruses using the app idownloader? I'm using this app idownloader to download music off of the website mp3 skull and I was wondering if it will give my iPhone viruses?
  • How to get rid of the jailbreak without getting rid of the unlock? I have an iPhone 3GS [iOS 5.1.1] here in the Philippines and I was wondering if there's a way to get rid of the jailbreak without deleting the unlock for the phone. My uncle says to restore it to factory settings from iTunes to get rid of it, but I'm afraid that it also might get rid of the unlock for the phone. If anyone can give me any solutions that would be helpful.
