Wisdom teeth removed next year?

Last year I was 14 and the dentist said that when I turn 15 they will remove my wisdom teeth. I'm 15 right now and they said they will remove 4 of my wisdom teeth next year since they are not fully in my teeth right now. I'm going to be awake through the surgery and I'm really freaking out because of the pain and I'm more afraid of when they make that small cut in your gums and I really do not want to feel that in my mouth! Does getting it removed really hurt? How am I suppose to eat? Or brush my teeth or drink? I'm really scared

I'm going to be awake through the surgery and I'm really freaking out because of the pain and I'm more afraid of when they make that small cut in your gums and I really do not want to feel that in my mouth! Does getting it removed really hurt? How am I suppose to eat? Or brush my teeth or drink? I'm really scared My kid had them out with just laughing gas, a valium and novocaine because our dental insurance sucks. The person that recommended the guy we used also didn't get put out and also said it was fine. You're aware but you're kind of out of it. To be perfectly honest, I was put out when I had mine out many years ago and I woke up before he was finished in horrific pain and he ended up just giving me novocaine for the last 15 minutes anyway. The good thing is there's less recovery time in the dentist's office. Charge up your iphone and make a playlist for 1 hour of music and you probably won't even get to finish it. Afterwards, make sure your mom has icepacks in the freezer (they may give you some at the oral surgeon's office) because you'll need to alternate so you can keep some in the freezer while you have them on your cheeks for the first day. Also buy ice pops. Then your oral surgeon will call in a prescription for pain killers and very strong non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pills as well as some anti-biotics. Sometimes they will also give you a few steroid pills so you don't have too much swelling. And you will rinse your mouth with salt water. You can easily eat ice cream, pudding, apple sauce, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, soup and any other drink (but you can't drink through a straw for a few days so as not to interfere with the stitches). Out of the 10 pain pills my kid got, she only used 8 in the first 3 days and after that it was a teeny bit uncomfortable until the stitches fell out around day 6 but back to eating pretty well by day 3 - not steaks but softer things like fish and finely cut chicken. You'll be fine. Its nothing to worry about since they should be using Novocaine to numb the pain. And it will leave you a drooling fool for many hours after the surgery. 2 or 3 shots in the gum area will be enough to block the pain. No dentist wants you to endure pain. You will be give Novocaine or something like that to numb your mouth. You won't feel anything. I had my wisdom teeth removed years and years and years ago. Never felt a thing.

Your dentist will tell you when you can eat and drink. Follow her instructions exactly.

Millions of people have had their wisdom teeth removed. They all came through it. You will, too.
