Would it be legal to unlock an iPhone 4S I purchased on eBay locked?
I do not plan to use it as a phone per se. I only plan to use it for web surfing at home using the wi-fi router on my PC and use the camera for taking local and travel photos.
Doesn't unlocking it require that a phone company do it?
In the US, yes it's legal. However the phone must not have a blacklisted IMEI.
Also, depending on which carrier the phone came from, they may require the last account holder's PIN to go through the unlock process. If you don't have it or can't get access to it, then you can't unlock it.
- Would i have Legal issues if i named my iPhone app the same as a current product non-gaming related? Apparently, the name of my iPhone game is the same as a book written by a non-famous author, the book is about super hero's. My game is not about super hero's. Also, when i search google images, the name of my game shows up as the vehicle, Jaguar's icon. Would i have a legal issue to name my game the same as a book and a google image that shows up as Jaguar's icon?

- I purchased an IPhone 4S on ebay but it's locked to O2, what can i do? I recently purchased an IPhone 4S from ebay but the seller didn't tell me that it was locked to O2. I have a Talk Mobile contract which won't work in this IPhone. I been on the O2 website but in order to get them to unlock i would need the phone number from the Original O2 sim card. I'm also not sure whether it was a monthly contract or pay as you go. Is there anything i can do here? It's been a week and the seller hasn't been in contact with me.
