Any way of getting a water damaged SIM card to work?

Dropped my iPhone 5s down the toilet last month, had to pay to get it replaced and just got a new one. Brand new phone so the phone isn't the problem and it won't read my sim, it just says No Service. I'm assuming this is because it's water damaged? I ordered a new sim and I can still keep my same number but does this mean I lose all the text messages I may have got whilst my phone was broken?

No service could mean anything. Are you in a bad area? Move around and see if you get service. Did you put the sim card in the correct way? It could also mean something is wrong with the new phone itself, have you tried to put in another sim card? Perhaps a family member's sim, or a friend's sim to see if it registers - if it does register then it definitely is your old sim cards fault.

Yes you probably will lose the text messages whilst the phone was broken.

  • Will my sim card still work if dropped i water? So, i dropped my iPhone 4 in the pool and it had my micro sim card in it, obviously, I'm getting a new galaxy s4 today as my iPhone is now screwed. Will the simcard still work or will I have to get a new one?
  • Will cutting my sim card work to use as a micro sim card? I just ordered an iPhone 4 and I need to cut the sim card to make it a Micro sim. Will it affect it. I have seen a bunch of video and already have the template it for it. I'm using simple mobile. Do you know if anything wrong happen to it?
  • Water damaged iPhone SIM card? So my iPhone 5 got water damaged and I got a new, same phone. I still have the SIM card from the water damaged phone. Is it okay to put that SIM card into my new phone? Will it harm my new phone?
  • My iphone speaker will not work after i water damaged it, is there any fix? I accidently spilled orange juice on my iphone and i thought it was fine as it operated after i wiped it off. I noticed later that i could not hear the other person during a phone call. Are there any fixes to this or do i have to buy another phone out right?
