Using an iPhone from a different country?
So me and my mom are switching to a prepaid plan (by the way we live in the usa) and the iphone by itself costs like 500-600 dollars or so.So, my dad lives in Russia at the moment. Will I be able to use that uncloked iPhone from Russia if he buys it there and ships it to me? It just would be way easier for him to do that than buy it here for me.
Like, all I need to know is if it will still work if he buys it from there.

Yes, that will work fine in US if the phone is factory-unlocked. Or you can buy one from US itself at much cheaper price from Amazon / eBay and save the trouble of shipping. Don't think they sell factory-unlocked iPhone 4S in Russia and if they does, it will cost more than in US. So I would always suggest you to buy locally. - Will my iPhone 5 work in a different country? It's an iPhone 5, and I live in NZ. We're going on a trip to America for a couple of weeks, and I don't know if my phone will work. I don't care if I can't text or make phone calls, or about roaming or whatever with Vodafone. I just want to make sure I can use Wi-Fi like usual. Obviously the camera and iPod parts will work? - When in a contract, can I get a different SIM while in another country? I'm going to china in 15 days and I want an IPhone so I can take pictures and have data while I'm there. I'm staying for an entire month. Getting this IPhone (with either sprint or T-mobile) with put me in a 2 year contract.
