Using Viber on iPhone with Wi-Fi in different country?

Hi so I'm traveling next week and I was wondering if it will be free to use Viber from my iPhone using Wi-Fi. If I'm connected to Wi-Fi will I be charged/ will it work in a different country. I'm going to America if that matters.

This is an official representative of Viber Media.

Viber itself is totally free, meaning we (Viber) don't charge anything from you.

Since Viber uses the internet, both sides of the conversation must be connected to either Wi-Fi or 3G. If a user is connected to Wi-Fi - that user is not paying anything for sure. If the user is connected to 3G, the user *may* be paying his cell company for the data (about 0.3MB per minute of call), but that depends on the specific data plan that he has with his cellular company, and needs to be verified with them.

* Note that when a user is abroad using the cellular network (and not Wi-Fi), there may be high Roaming charges by your cellular company for the data used.

  • Will my iPhone 5 work in a different country? It's an iPhone 5, and I live in NZ. We're going on a trip to America for a couple of weeks, and I don't know if my phone will work. I don't care if I can't text or make phone calls, or about roaming or whatever with Vodafone. I just want to make sure I can use Wi-Fi like usual. Obviously the camera and iPod parts will work? But what about Internet? Cheers.
  • Using Iphone in different country? So i going away to jamaica. Could i use my iphone there. Or will they charge me. Like i'm staying at a hotel with Wi-Fi and such. Can i use my phone without cellular(callin people) and just use it for internet and Wi-Fi. How will this affect my bill
  • Is texting or calling from iPhone to iPhone free if you're in a different country? I live in the US And I'm going to Sydney, Australia for 3 weeks in a little while but I'll only be 17 when I go with one of my friends and I wanted to make sure I could communicate with my mom. There aren't many hotels I can find with free Wi-Fi or even Wi-Fi in general. The hotel we're probably going to stay in only offers wired. Both my mom and I have iPhone's so if we text or call on the cell phone data (I have Verizon) will my phone bill price be crazy high?
  • Is it possible for my iphone to be hacked from a different country? I'm curious. Is it really possible? As in, can the person see the apps that I've been opening and the things I've been doing there? My iphone doesn't have a SIM card in it, but I still want to make sure. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, I don't know. And how would I know if I've been hacked (in my case)?
