How to fix my laptops internet?

So last night my internet was working perfectly but I woke up this morning to see that my internet wasn't working, it's just a box with a red X in it and when I click on it, it says "No connections are available" I clicked on trouble shoot and it says this "A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken". But the thing is I don't have a Ethernet cable since I use Wi-Fi, so after seeing that I did a system recovery and I still have the problem, my router is working perfectly and my iphone connects to it perfectly, please help

Reformat or try reseting router. Also try reinstalling browser and realted software (JAVA, ETC).

Turn off router for 20 secs turn on. This will reset router.

Ugh, I can't stand bad troubleshooting. Don't listen to these guys.

First, right go into the Control Panel. Change the view to Large Icons.

Choose Network and Sharing Center. In the Network and Sharing Center, on the left hand side, choose Change Adapter Settings. Verify your adapter is listed. If so, right click on it and make sure it is enabled.

Go back to the Control Panel. And choose Device Manager. In the Device Manager, expand Network Adapters and make sure there isn't an "X" or a "!" on any of the adapters listed. If there's, right click on the one with the error, make sure it is enabled, and also update the driver. It should update itself since it was working before, meaning the driver is installed but not currently detected by the device.

If this doesn't work, swap out the network cable. You might have a bad cable.

After doing this troubleshooting, reboot your computer. Sometimes it won't detect the changes you made until you reboot as well.

If that doesn't work, go back into the Device Manager, expand the Network Adapters again, right click and choose uninstall. After uninstalling, reboot your computer. It will reinstall itself.

If none of these work, you might have a burned out network card.

  • Will Apple desktops/laptops get the new feel of iOS7? Obviously the 'iOS' system is for iPhones, iPods and iPads so there would not be an iOS update on the iMacs/MacBooks, however I wondered if an update for the computers (complete with the new designs for apps etc) was forthcoming? Much obliged! PS Jennifer J - why would you write something that clearly does not answer the question - nor does your source for that matter. Proper answers only people!
  • What tablets/laptops are there for my grandad? My grandad, aged 79, who just about knows about where the on button on a laptop is, is looking for a device where he can access emails. He has issues typing on my iPhone, and has reading glasses. What would be good for him?
  • Should we impose sin taxes on recreational items like TV's, iPhones, laptops, etc? Anti-smoking advocates want to tax cigarettes for their costs to society. Okay. How about all these items? They're often mass-produced using a lot of petroleum-based chemicals and plastics, they are designed to break easily and be obsolete quickly, they use a lot of resources, they lower workplace productivity, and so on. Rampant consumerism is doing way more damage to society as a whole than tobacco is. Should we impose a sin tax on this dangerous behavior?
