I got rice in my iPhone charging port?

I dropped my phone in water and had to put it in a bag of rice over night. I was surprised that my phone had no glitches or anything messed up after I dropped it in the water. It worked perfectly fine for 3 days, then I noticed that the volume buttons and sliders in apps wouldn't pop up or work. I looked online and saw that it would probably be because there was something in the charging port and I saw a small piece of rice that I can't get out… Help please.

Try to get it out with a toothpick

Try using a needle or toothpick. TRY NOT TO SCRATCH ANYTHING. Be careful next time.

  • Why port forwarding on port 80? I have a foscam home security camera and it needs port forwarding on port 80 if I want to use my iphone to view it from outside. Surely enough, it works as soon as I open that port. But isn't port 80 open by default? Else how could I view http websites in the first place. I don't get it. It's already open so why open it again?
  • What is different of the new iPhone 5 charging port? Since the iPhone 5 has a new charging port that is smaller than the original, is the charging port the same as the Andriod charging port? Or is it completely different? I have an Andriod phone and I was wondering if I was able to get the iPhone 5, will I be able to use my Andriod chargers for the iPhone 5? What is different about the iPhone 5 charging port?
  • Uncooked rice grain wedged in charger port iphone 5s? I tried the rice trick on my wet iphone, the phone is now working fine except a piece of rice is wedged RIGHT at the bottom of the charger hole. Tweezers, knife, pin, vacuum cleaner are not able to get it out. Will Apple be able to get it out because I can't even see the grain of rice anymore and the charger does not work.
  • I need to replace my charging port on my iPhone 4S but it won't turn off So i need to replace my charging port in my iphone 4S because of water damage in the charging port. I have the new port and tools, but due to the broken charging port, i can't turn the phone off to install the new charging port. Since i can't turn it off, can i just drain the power and let the phone die and then proceed with the replacement?
