On a airplane can you use your iPhone/iPod?

I've never flew before so I have no idea. I go away soon and I don't know if to take my iPhone/iPod for the flight there and back

Yes, they are fine.

Switch to 'Airplane Mode' once the plane is ready to move and leave it/them like that until after landing.

Turn off completely during takeoff and landing - there's normally an announcement when it's OK to use gadgets & computers after takeoff.

Not really, see that Airplane Mode thing? With that you can use it, and then there's some pilot (pun?) offering of costly data connections on major routes of major liners.

Yes, but there are limitations.

Yes just not for the start and end

Your devices must be in airplane mode.

They must be in airplane mode (you need to set this before getting on the plane) and they must be switched doff during landing and take off and whenever the cabin crew say they must be switched off. Please remember to turn off the sound or use headphones otherwise it will disturb other passengers.

Yeah, just make sure it's on aeroplane mode before you switch it off. You have to switch it off for take off, then you can turn it back on when you're in the air (so when the seatbelt sign goes off) but don't take it off aeroplane mode, and then you're suppose to turn it back off again when you land. This goes for ebooks too i.e. Kindles
