Why do people go crazy over the iPhone and other expensive cell phones?
Some of those phones cost more than rent. I've never understood why someone would pay over $100 for a phone.
Nope, I have iphone 5S and they hold their value so well that when I upgrade to 6, it will be free with a new contract because 5S is worth way more then that. It's great. Iphone 5S is a really good phone also.
I think it's because in the long run, an iPhone, or any other expensive smartphone for that matter will be totally worth it since you only have to spend money and service on one device. Think about it, an iPhone may replace a music player, flashlight, calculator, stationery, radio, and perhaps even a computer altogether. This is only my opinion, and I'll accept others' with open arms.
It's not a phone. It's a pocket sized computer that just happens to be phone and we still call them phones because we don't know what else to call them. Best luck.
Same reason SOME people go crazy over new cars, new houses or new friends that other people can't stand. Most people don't go crazy over things they buy, they just but then and use them.
Why they pay what they pay, is that most can afford to pay the price the item costs. It is as simple as that.
Now the idiots that buy things they really can't afford, those are the people you really are asking about. Why they are crazy over things or but things they can't afford, who knows or cares?
I feel that it depends on ones needs. I use my Tracfone for calls and texting only. For less than $150.00 /yr. I have sufficient minutes with no contract or additional costs for a years service. I do not include any APS for games music or anything else to impress my peers. I suggest anyone looking for economical, dependable low cost communications use a prepaid program such as this.
Me personally, I would not buy a 600.00 phone because I'm human and might drop it. I'm very careful with my tech devices but still, stuff happens. I did however pay 200.00 for my phone. It is not the latest or best but it serves it's purpose.

- Why do so many people go crazy for new gadgets and technology? Queue up for days just to be the first to get a new iPhone… Upgrading things when the old one works just fine… Why do people want the newest "in" thing so much? - What cell phone, and company, is the best for someone who just listens to music, streams shows/videos, and texts? Cheapest plans/phones? I occasionally talk on my phone, and/or take photos. Also, can I still get the food/ride share apps if I don't have an IPhone? I live in a mid-sized city in the mid-west. (over 100,000 pop. And over 70 square miles)
