Why won't my iphone charge up?
I have an iphone 3g
and it was passed down from my elder brother, the charger he gave me was a little damaged (the wires at one end inside the plastic were visible)… Sometimes it wouldn't work… So my mum got me another charger from ebay and it wouldn't work at all
then we complained and they sent another free of charge to replace it… Then we realised that the 1st ebay charger did work but there was a printing default on it in the factory and we realised we just needed to insert the charger into the phone with the symbol facing the opposite way…
anyways now we have 3 chargers that work fine but recently my phone won't charge… I've tried different plug sockets, different chargers. I have made sure that everything is inserted properly and still nothing… When it dies i still keep it in and after ages it manages to charge to something under 10% and then it won't charge anymore… The "charging" symbol on the screen won't show up
so i'm thinking… What if its a problem with the actual phone?
Side note: My silent button doesn't work either, when i flick it to make it silent it doesn't go on silent… This has been like this for 5 months now and it doesn't bother me like it did.
I had the same thing and the phone would actually die whilst on charge saying 100% its was driving me crazy but i suggest trying to get a replacement battery off ebay from a decent seller not some cheap Chinese seller as it won't be good quality and if it still doesn't work then i would just suggest a new phone unfortunately. Charger answer (if its the problem):
You can never be sure because there are tons of negatives to phones as well as positives so there's a chance it could be the charger! Un-official chargers (not from apple) are always a bit dodgy, my non-official one has to be jammed in for it to work. I recommend you trying one not from eBay, not ore-owned.
iPhone answer (if that's the problem):
It could be the IPhone itself! If you can upgrade, I would, or at least wait until the 5S comes out late-January. It sounds like your phone has had a good run and my friends 3GS seems to be getting a bit tired. If you can't afford one I suggest a repair shop, they will fix the silence problem too.

- Why won't my iphone 4 charge via laptop? I'm using a Gateway NV53 and there's four USP ports and none of them register that the iphone is recognized. I have gone to Apple to resolve this issue but to no avail. My USB cord is brand new and it works on my other laptop. Any computer whiz in the house?
- Why won't my iPhone 4 charge after water damage? My middle button wasn't working either but I sat it in a bag of rice overnight and now it's working again, only problem is my phone won't charge. - IPhone loses charge overnight.a lot of charge. Why? My iPhone 4S was on 5.1.1 but i did restore the software last week and used a backup to also restore the files. Since then I have been losing about 35-40% of my battery overnight, I'm a very power-conscious person, I only use wi-fi, 3g when i need to and i usually keep everything off except data, notifications are to a minimum and location services are off as well as brightness being as low as possible. What is going on? Any help is appreciated
- How can I charge I charge my iPhone without an iPhone charger when it is low and needs to be charged and I can't charge it? Reason I may not be able to charge my iPhone. Forgot or don't have any charger at all my, and no where to buy one or I don't have money to buy one. No where to plug in my charger or some other reason I can't charge my iPhone at all.
