Am I good enough or anywhere close?

OKAY LOOK, I KNOW I'VE DONE THIS QUESTION BEFORE but I've done a small portfolio on YouTube and I was wondering if you could have a look at it?

How do I get into photography? Like would any websites want me to do stuff for free?
I'm only 14, and I know I'm not going to become a professional photographer yet! But what steps can I take to get there? Like what camera? Nothing too expensive, I was looking at getting a Nikon v1? Any good. All I have at the moment is an iPhone 4S, any help is good! Thanks

Looks good! I had no idea they were taken on an iPhone! The best way to get into it is to join an online forum, it's allot more fun when you have other people with the same interests to talk to! There's no such thing as "good enough" just enjoy yourself and practice, practice can make anybody a good photographer.

1) Why YouTube? I want to see the whole photo, not only a little thumbnail of it, and I want to choose how long I wish to look at it… Not have a "movie" decide for me.

2) Pretty much every single photo is crooked - the horizon is meant to be level, not off on some odd angle

3) All I remember is cars… More cars… And more cars. You need to come up with a variety of subjects.

Until I get time to study some of them properly, there really is no giving you a good critique.

Make sure to upload them as photos somewhere, then link to that.
Then pick only ONE or two photos, give us YOUR take on them (i.e. What you tried to achieve, what you think you achieved, etc) before asking US to spend way more time on feedback than you spent on presenting the photo to us.

Don't get an overgrown/undergrown compact camera such as the Nikon V1. Buy a DSLR - similar price to the CSCs, in fact you can start into the DSLR market quite a bit cheaper. A DSLR is much more practical and will teach you a lot more about photography. Obviously get a good brand, Nikon, Canon, Sony, Pentax - don't even think about Vivitar etc.

Selena gave you good advice. Let me add this: in general, a video portfolio is not well received by professionals. They prefer to go at their own pace. I didn't have sound turned on. But if you used sound, that's another no-no. I'm not a member of Instagram. So I couldn't see that one.

As for the spread of photos, your portfolio is good if your goal is to be an automotive photographer. You want to have photos that display your talents in your chosen field. These are pretty good. But cars are not challenging subjects as a rule. People are. On the other hand, if you're using the portfolio to apply to a school, you want broader subject matter that includes only your one best car photo.

Your photos are really good! Posting it on Youtube is a start but i would recommend Flickr.

There are many great Photographers there that you and i can learn from.
To get the next stage i would get a DSLR, I'm using a Canon 600D and i love it. Of course there are other brands too but i would recommend doing to serious research and view the specs before purchasing.
I didn't know anything about cameras or Photography till i was 18 (5 months ago) so You are definitely on your way there!
