Guys help me out can i buy an iphone5 from my uncle in america & use it in india? Will it work? Here is my plan-- my uncle will buy it @$199 (approx 10500rs) and they will send it to me by courier

In India, you would have to get an unlocked iPhone, meaning one without a 2yr American contract. It is $450 for 16gb. $550 for 32gb. And $650 for 64gb. It is $150 more to get it unlocked.
If your uncle can send it to you using courier, take it to a guy who can unlock it for pennies and then you have your new iphone5 very cheap.
