Can I get my iphone back from a thief?
I regret that I never locked it. However, I can still see new data (such as contacts) from the stolen iphone on my icloud account. It says I can change the lock on the account through icloud. Is that really possible to do? I changed the lock combination through icloud but it says will only be put into effect when the phone goes online. The phone seems to always be offline. The phone also needs to be online to track it. Is it impossible and too late to track my iphone this way?
Not sure if this is what you mean but have you tried: find my iPhone? You do need another Apple device to access the app but it's great. You can send a message, lock it and wipe all your data. If your lucky and you left location services on then it will tell you it's location too!
You can get an iphone from someone else and have them get the app "find my iphone" and you put in your phone number and stuff and it finds where exactly it is on the map

Yes you can if you have find my iPhone set on. U report a phone theft to the police and whoever who has your phone can be traced down to the street they are on. If the phone is off, as soon it gets turned on the police can see the face theif or current person in possession from the front camera and they can easily be caught. Hope this helped.
