Can i use my pay as you go plan with an iphone?

I currently have a prepaid at&t phone that is on the 50 dollar unlimited everything pay as you go plan. I want to buy an Iphone 4s and use that on the pay as you go plan. I just what to know if it would be possible to do this. I know i can't buy the Iphone from at&t so i was going to get one on ebay or amazon

I believe you can.

You can buy a Iphone and use it on a prepaid plan. But the prepaid plan will have to be a monthly plan not a pay as you go plan.

There are 2 types of prepaid plans. One is monthly where you get so many minutes and text messages and you have to add more airtime at the end of the 30 days if you have minutes left or not.

Pay as you go means that the minutes will add up and rollover as long as you add another airtime card before the service end date.

You could use the Net10 or Straight Talk bring your own phone program. You will have to buy a sim card for $15 from either Net10 or Straight Talk and a unlimited talk, text and web plan. The unlimited plans are $50 for Net10 and $45 from Straight Talk.

AT&T has a GoPhone (http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/gophone.html#fbid=Z-DVe7GpCQ1) which is pay as you go and you can use an iphone with the plan, but you have to get a separate data plan if you use any smart phone with AT&T GoPhone pay as you go.

You can use an iphone with other carriers that work on the AT&T network such as Airvoice wireless or H20 wireless which does not charge extra for data plans (there are other choices in your area even Walmart offerpay as you go plans).

AT&T will also unlock an iphone for you so you can use it on another carrier network, this takes 5 to 7 days for them to send you the unlocking process but its free and worth the wait. Go to the following link to apply for unlocking https://www.att.com/...ent/en_US/. If a site is charging you to unlock your iphone they are using AT&T free service so save your money.

  • Is there any Iphone 5 pay as you go plan? I want to buy the Iphone 5 but don't want to pay a whole bunch on monthly plans, especially since I rarely will use the service to call anyone. I want to know if there's an Iphone 5 plan that lets you pay only for the minutes you use like pay as you go. I don't want a prepaid monthly plan either. If there's no plan like that, is there a way to achieve that like unlocking the Iphone and getting a prepaid micro sim card.
  • Is there a Pay as you go plan for the iPhone 4s? I've been thinking about saving up and buying myself a phone, but if I'm going to put my own money into it, I'd like something worth the money. Since I would be paying for it on my own, I was wondering if I were to buy an iPhone, is there anyway I could get a "pay as you go" type of plan where I only pay for as much as I use it, since I don't call people a lot.
  • Is pay as you go better than pay monthy for an iphone? I can either can an iphone 4 (32gb with small scratch on screen) for 100 pounds and then have a pay as you go sim or an 8gb iphone 4 for "effectively 14.88 a month". Which works out the better deal?
  • If you pay monthly for a phone is there anything else you have to pay? For Christmas I want an iPhone 8+ and pay it monthly. I would buy it from something like Verizon, us cellular, att, and others. Would I have to pay any other fees? Say it was like $23.50 a month for 24 months. Would I have to pay anything else after 24 months?
