Can you fix a water damaged iphone 4 or 5?

So I was looking on ebay for iphone 5 then I see one water damaged then I look it up now I'm kinda wondering if you could fix it? Like what condition does it have to be to be "fixed"

Usually right after being dropped in water a person should soak it in rice to prevent water damage but given its already been damaged I suggest you don't purchase it because the water could have screwed up or rusted the inside and its impossible to fix

I wouldn't recommend buying a water damaged iPhone, there's no way of knowing the extent of the damage.

take out the battery and the removable components
and leave it in a bowl if rice for about 2 to 3 days put it back together and try to switch on

i would't take a chance buying a second hand water damaged phone
