Help BEEN SCAMMED THROUGH PAYPAL?
Okay so I was on craiglist and I found a iPhone 16GB 5s for £200 I thought woo a bargain and I don't even have to meet up. The person asked me to pay via PayPal and click 'send to family and friends' so I did, Because apparently she would have to pay fees. But its been 2weeks and nothing, Haven't even got a real email because of the craiglist ones to protect there real email. I only have a a PayPal email (Already googled and nothing) and a Miss Roberts? How can I get my money back! There must be a way. Please help me? Is this fraud? Can I go the police? Let them track her down.
You were already told what to do.
You are responsible for your actions
paypal terms and conditions, warn against such transactions, you chose to ignore
as a consequence of violating paypal conditions, your only other course of action is the police
the police will only act, if you provide sufficient evidence, for an arrest and prosecution
You had the choice to tell the buyer you were not going to use Friends and Family
You could report to the police but if the seller is not local, they are not going to use their resources to go after them and will tell you to sue the person in small claims court. It costs about £50 to file and you need the seller's real name and home address
You used the word 'scammed', so you already know it's nearly certain you'll never recover anything.
You have no recourse. The seller got you to say this was a gift and Paypal will not help you get your money back in the event you never get the item.
After all, you helped the seller cheat them out of the fees.
And, you used Craigslist for a purpose other than intended. You are supposed to do LOCAL buys, meet in person and pay cash.
- Think iv been scammed what do I do? Ok I bought an iphone from gumtree and I paid through PayPal, they sent me a different phone a really cheap one so if I claim in PayPal they still have proof if postage so is there anything I can do?

Okay, I'm selling this on iphone to someone on craigslist and they said they would send me the money, so a couple minutes later I get a email from paypal saying they need a tracking number and that they're holding my money in a escrow account, I don't know it just sounds odd to me.
