How to fix an old water damaged iPhone 4?

My dad dropped his phone in the lake like a year ago, and since then it hasn't been able to work but last night i plugged it in to the computer and the apple logo just came on and then disappeared then came back.

Is there any way that I could fix it without paying any money or anything?

First off it it sat for a year like that with no use, then the battery would be dead. You would need to take that to an apple store but maybe they can fix it.

You can also recycle your old stuff on apple's site and they will give you store credit for it, so at least you will get something back for it. Even if damaged something is better then nothing.

  • My iphone speaker will not work after i water damaged it, is there any fix? I accidently spilled orange juice on my iphone and i thought it was fine as it operated after i wiped it off. I noticed later that i could not hear the other person during a phone call. Are there any fixes to this or do i have to buy another phone out right?
  • My iphone 5 has been water damaged how do I fix it? I dropped my phone in some water 2 nights ago, so as suggested by everyone I placed it in the box of rice. However I was in a state of panic and tried to switch the phone on. It is now stuck on a solid red screen and won't turn off. How do I fix this? I would also rather not have to take it apart in order to fix it
  • Is it possible to fix a water damaged iPhone? So I dropped my iPhone 4S in the toilet and now it won't turn on. I was wondering, will I able to get it fixed and still be able to keep my photos and text messages? I got a new iPhone, but the backup didn't work out because it didn't keep any of my new photos or text messages before I dropped it in the toilet. So I was wondering, if I get my water damaged iPhone fixed will I still have the pictures and the text messages?
  • Hhomework to fix my water damaged iphone? SO 4 months ago, i dropped my iphone into the sink and didn't really decide to fix it because i didn't have the time. I just bought iPhone 5. Now i want to restore it so i could give it to my son. ITs been 4 months now and i have not turned it on since (it doesn't turn on either). Will the rice method still work? Btw, you can't go to the aple store with a damaged iphone… They don't cover it
