I found my lost iphone 4s, now what?

I lost my iphone 4s last week hunting, and I had insurance on it, thinking I would never ever see it again, I bought another one through Verizon's insurance. Sure enough digging and cleaning through our hunting gear, I found my old iphone. Now I have two. Both with about no more than a month wear. Do they both belong to me? Can I clean the ESN off my old one and craigslist it or ebay it or do I have to return it to Verizon or the insurance companies?

Added (1). ** ps. If you PROVE that the phone is yours Verizon will clean off the esn for you.

Nope sorry. The esn is bad. The phone is not worthless but you can't sell it for $300 like the rest of them. The most you might get is $75 might as well keep it for an ipod. Hope this helps. This is why i don't use CDMA carriers

You can call them so they can check for you if those phones where late in bills or cut in contract or stolen its a bad esn if there yours and you have good record on those phones you can use it now these days iphone 3g/3gs going for 70 $ & iphone 4 $150

OK, if you bought a new iPhone and it hasn't been a month, then why don't you go back and explain what happen? Tell them that you want to return the new iPhone and that you found the old iPhone. If they find out, they are not going to see it as such, they are going to see it as insurance fraud, and you could get in trouble for this. If you sell it and the person that buys the iPhone from you, even thou you tell the buyer that the ESN is no good, and the could try to activate the phone anyway, and this could be trace back to you.
But it's your choice whatever you want to do with it.

  • Lost my iphone, claimed insurance but found my iphone. Will both work? My question is i recently lost my iphone 5 (t-mobile) and had already called insurance and am receiving my new iphone5 through insurance. T-mobile had told me that they have lock/blocked my lost phone. But recently my friend had found my phone and is mailing it to me but what i want to know is that will i be able to use both the iphones? Or is the one i lost really locked and unable to use?
  • Lost iPhone - blocked imei - now found, can I unblock? I lost my iPhone but someone kindly returned it to the hotel I lost it at. I reported it stolen/ missing at the time and it got blocked- obviously I can't really afford a brand new iPhone 5 when this one is fine but now my sim doesn't work (no signal just 3G) if I go to O2 with proof it's me will they unblock it for me?
  • I lost my iphone! If someone found it can they use it? Can they erase everything and use it as if it was one they bought? I can't believe i lost it and i didn't even have a lock on it! Ugh.
  • I found a lost iPhone 4s, what should I do? I left the iPhone on for a few days but there doesn't seem to be any incoming calls. I moved the sim card to another phone but still nobody calls. The iPhone is unusable so I decided to restart it to factory setting. But, when I wanted to activate it, it says that this iPhone was reported stolen or missing, please contact the number #########. I wouldn't want to call it, incase if the owner miss interpreted my good deeds of returning it.
