If I text on Wi-Fi in another country is it free?
I have an iphone, and I turned my roaming off, I'm from canada and In the USA, if I'm on Wi-Fi and I text with my iMessages is it free? As long as I'm on Wi-Fi?
Firstly, you don't text on Wi-Fi and secondly, you can't turn off roaming on an iphone. You can facebook message people on Wi-Fi in any country and yes that's free (if its a free Wi-Fi network).
There's no fee's to use iMessage over Wi-Fi or on data. As long as the other person has iMessage.
For the record iMessage is not a text. I'm (instant message) since it requires internet access to work.

- Will i be charged if someone texts me from another country? My friend took a day trip to Canada yesterday (we live in the us) and was texting me the whole day. She said that since we both had iphones and were using iMessage that we wouldnt be charged, but she had Wi-Fi for a couple hours and while she was using the Wi-Fi she got charged for roaming since she wasn't using 3G. Will i be charged as well? It was in a group chat with two other girls as well and they are also worried. We're all on Verizon 3G plans
- Is there a way I could text outside of my country for free? So, I live in Canada and I have free texting to and from anywhere in Canada. Problem is, I have internet friends living in America and I want to be able to contact them somehow without it charging either of us money. I have an iPhone, is there anyway I can download an app for that? Or something I can do to text all my american friends without any charge on either of our parts?
