IPhone 5 water damage
I have a water proof otter box (not so water proof) and iPhone got wet. (Seriously not that wet) dried it off and left it alone and put it under my towel and continued to swim. Went to phone wouldn't turn on. Plugged it into charger and turned on with condensation under the screen. Continued to use phone all day. Phone would black out with funky colors after a couple minutes. I had no rice at all besides seasoned pasta rice and broccoli. It was my last option so have SIM card out and phone in rice to sit. I'm wondering if phone should be ok? Will it stop blacking out? Any answers will help.
One of the worst things you can do when your phone is wet is to turn it on.
For future reference: Turn it off immediately, remove as much water as you can with paper towels, and then put it in rice for at least a full day (2 or 3 days is better). The more time you let it dry out, the better your chance.
Still put yours in rice with everything opened as it might do the trick. Leave it there for at least 24 hours. I would wait at least 48 hours if I were you.
Another trick that I've heard works very well is to soak your phone (off) in Isopropyl Alcohol. Alcohol doesn't damage the electrical components, it dilutes the water well, and it evaporates much faster than water. Do try to use 91% rather than 70% because more will evaporate from the 91%.
Your phone might also be covered by warranty.
- Will my iPhone still work after water damage? It fell into a bucket of water last night and I can't turn the phone off because the screen is black. I can hear the phone ringing and vibrating, but can't see anything. I put it in a bowl of rice, is this fixable? Will the screen eventually work?
- Sprint warranty for water damage on iphone 4s? Recently, my brand new iphone 4s fell on my sink, the problem with it is that there are grey spots and blue spots on my screen. Do you know if there's a warranty on my phone, i remember the worker told me that it did not cover loss but i don't remember after that
- My iPhone 4 suffered heavy water damage, will it be okay? I went in the pool with it not realizing it was in my pocket. I was in the pool for about 5-10 minutes before I realized it was in my pocket. It was on when I went in the pool but was off when I got out. I now have it sitting in a bowl of rice and I plan on leaving it in there for a week, changing the rice it's in every 24 hours. Does anyone have any insight on this, like if there's any hope of it being okay or is it done for?
- Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
