IPhone 7 headphones and charger won't work after water damage, what do I do?

I was at a family party and had a cup of juice and my phone on a table while sitting with my cousin (who is around my age, we're both teens). I specifically said to be careful to not knock over the juice because my phone was right there. Well, he bumped into the table and knocked over the cup while he was getting up and my phone was completely soaked in juice. I dried it off and it seemed to be working fine so I didn't tell my parents or his. Later that night after the party though, the charger wasn't really working. It will charge but it charges on and off whenever it gets slightly moved. The headphones don't work at all.

Is this fixable? Would I have to get it repaired at a store or can this be fixed at home?
Should my aunt have to pay to replace it or for any repairs? I know it was an accident but I don't think it's fair that I have to suffer the consequences however I don't want to start any family drama

The only one responsible is you. You knew there was a cup by your phone but you kept it there anyways. That's your fault

You can take it to a shop but it may be toast.

Send it out for repair and asking his parents to pay the repair bill.

Replace.

The iphone 7 is supposed to be waterproof.

Most likely the problem is just dried crud in the lightning port.

Wash it with deionised water, using a small paintbrush to clean inside the port - and repeat a dozen times with clean (deionised) water to ensure all traces of sugar etc. Are flushed out.

Wipe the whole phone over with cloth or paper towel damped with the same thing to eliminate any stickiness.

Deionised water is sold for topping up car batteries and for use in steam irons etc.
(Don't get the "ironing water" that has scent added…)

You left it in harm's way. Nobody's fault but yours.

  • Will my iPhone still work after water damage? It fell into a bucket of water last night and I can't turn the phone off because the screen is black. I can hear the phone ringing and vibrating, but can't see anything. I put it in a bowl of rice, is this fixable? Will the screen eventually work?
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth greyed out after water damage on iPhone 5S? I dropped my iPhone 5S in water. I didn't have anything to dry it with, but a towel. I tried to turn it off, but it turned itself on again. Now my Wi-Fi is greyed out, and Bluetooth is constantly circling. I haven't backed it up for a long time. And I'm on vacation without any computer.
  • Why won't my iPhone 4 charge after water damage? My middle button wasn't working either but I sat it in a bag of rice overnight and now it's working again, only problem is my phone won't charge. How can I fix that? It wasn't completely submerged a little bit of water just got inside the base piece.
  • My normal headphones won't work after using Bluetooth headphones? (iPhone 7)? I've been using AirPods for a couple months now and the battery is getting pretty bad so I decided to get some plug-in Apple headphones but those don't work. When I plug them in I get a "not supported" notification. I've also tried friends headphones that worked fine on there phone, so I know it's not just faulty wires.
