IPhone got a bit wet from the ocean (still works a bit) how can I fix it?
Okay so I was at the beach and I had my phone wrapped up in my towel, then the tide came in really really quickly and took my towel with my phone into the ocean. I raced over to get it out and it was pretty wet but it was still on. My dad dried it off and poured a little bit of fresh water over it because the salt water is really bad. Then he blew all the water out with an air compresser.
All my stuff is still on it and it all works except the home button doesn't work so I have to use the assesive touch, and if I turn it off it turns back on again.
Is there anyway I can fix the home button or the other thing? Also if there's any salt in my phone can I wreck it over time?
QUICKLY put it in a bag of dry rice! The rice absorbs as MUCH moisture as possible from your phone. You gotta hurry, though.
I don't know if it's just me, but salt and a battery= KABOOM.
i suggest you just get it replaced before the salt burns your phone from the inside.
Shut it off and place it in a bowl of uncooked rice.
take off the case you may have on it, and let it sit in the rice, completely submerged at least overnight. That should absorb any water left in the device. That should get your home button to work if water is preventing it from working, and it should get rid of any salt as well.
Start by closing it in a bag of rice to remove any excess water that might help if there's salt it might affect it some but it should be good enough
- What is the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit in the iPhone 5S? I was wondering what is 64 bit and why does it matter on an iPhone? What makes it different than the iPhone 5 or any other smartphone right now, and should we really care?
- Need an advice! My iphone got wet but still works fine? I spilled my water bottle on my backpack about 2 hours. I just noticed it when I opened my backpack and I saw my iphone 4s got wet, it wasn't submerged it's just wet. It still works fine, quickly I turned it off and haven't yet checked anything because I was shocked. Now that I got home I put it on a bag of rice. What to do after this? How long should I put this? I'm afraid if I turn it on before the phone completely dries it will get a problem.
- My iPhone 5s got wet but it still working. But the touch screen is a bit slow. Is it safe to use? I dropped my phone in water but pulled it out immediately. I powered it down, dried it off, and let it sit for 30 or so minutes. At first the screen was red but then turned on and everything works. The touch sometimes is unresponsive. Is it safe to use my phone? I'm letting it air dry by a window because rice can cause erosion… Should I use it?
