Iphone turns off when opening apps?

I have a Verizon iPhone 5 with the most recent update.

My phone is randomly shutting down after I open any app and then goes to power up again. I know I can erase my phone and reboot it from scratch but I'm wondering if there's a simple solution that I'm missing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you should just get a new phone.

  • What's with these random Apple ID password prompts when opening certain apps on iPhone X? Whenever I open an app I sometimes get a "sign into itunes store" prompt and have to enter my password. If I press cancel it closes the app. If I enter my password the app starts up like nothing ever happened. This happens at completely random intervals. I looked all over Google and only found a similar issue that wasn't quite mine. How do I make this annoying thing go away?

  • My iPhone keeps turning on and off like it turns on and off. Can someone tell me? Okay tbms it turns on and off on and off and then sometimes it shows a red screen for a few seconds then off again and dies out. It's not the battery because I got that changed thinking that it was the cause and it wasn't. So is there anything someone can help me with? The repair guy tried restoring it through iTunes he said it didn't work either it just won't come on it doesn't go pass the Apple logo before shutting off and on again and dying out
  • My iPhone 4S turns off for no reason? Sometimes I will be able to use it for over a half hour when it's at 1% battery, but other times it will shut off when there's battery life remaining, e.g., 8% or 12%. And just now it turned off at 27%! This doesn't seem normal to me. Does this happen to anyone else? What could the problem be?
