IPhone water damage: what do I do?

My iPhone fell into some water yesterday. As it seemed to be working fine, I just wiped it down and continued to use it. That evening, when I told my roommate, she advised me to turn it off for a while. I attempted to do so, but it immediately turned itself back on. I tried a few more times, but the result was the same. This morning it started working just fine. It turned off normally, but then the home button stopped working. Without the home button, the phone is unusable. Is it too late for my poor phone? Or is there something I can do?

Nothing. It's ruined forever.

Get a bowl of uncooked rice and sit it in there for 48 hours. Attempt to turn it on afterwards. If there's any water left in the phone causing it to malfunction, the rice will draw it out. However, thats what you're supposed to do, working or not, when your phone gets submerged. Hopefuly it will still work.

You can try putting it in uncooked rice for a day or two. That's what I normally do when my phone falls in water. The rice will absorb the water In the phone. I'm not sure if it'll work on yours though but I hope this helps.

Also, if you go to settings, general, then accessibility there should be an option to have a side menu. My iPhone 3GS doesn't have it but my sisters and dads does. There should be a white circle on te side of your screen and thatll help if one of the buttons doesn't work.

Yes of course… Please don't on your phone again if you on the phone it will become use less… So go to nearer mobile shop give your phone and say the matter happen he will ask you to pay 200 or 300 just pay it he will do it in 20 minutes… After that your mobile will become to normal stage

  • Will my iPhone still work after water damage? It fell into a bucket of water last night and I can't turn the phone off because the screen is black. I can hear the phone ringing and vibrating, but can't see anything. I put it in a bowl of rice, is this fixable? Will the screen eventually work?
  • Sprint warranty for water damage on iphone 4s? Recently, my brand new iphone 4s fell on my sink, the problem with it is that there are grey spots and blue spots on my screen. Do you know if there's a warranty on my phone, i remember the worker told me that it did not cover loss but i don't remember after that
  • My iPhone 4 suffered heavy water damage, will it be okay? I went in the pool with it not realizing it was in my pocket. I was in the pool for about 5-10 minutes before I realized it was in my pocket. It was on when I went in the pool but was off when I got out. I now have it sitting in a bowl of rice and I plan on leaving it in there for a week, changing the rice it's in every 24 hours. Does anyone have any insight on this, like if there's any hope of it being okay or is it done for?
  • Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
