Iphone won't receive messages after being dead for a while?
I have a iPhone 5.It was dead for about two weeks, I lost it. I found it and charged it and was expecting for my missed calls, and messages to appear once charged and they didn't. My phone usually does but it won't receive all the messages that I missed during that time. I've tried taking the SIM card out, resetting the network settings, and calling ##873283# to do the service update. But nothing is seeming to work. And it's been powered on for about 12 hours now, is there any explanation or solution as to why I'm not being able to receive these calls and messages after my phone was dead for quite some time?

- Why didn't I receive text messages people sent while I was away? - 1 I was away in Italy and I took my cell phone, but turned off roaming and data. Anyway, when we got back my sister received text messages people sent while she was away, but I didn't. People told me they texted me and I never got them. I don't this guy to think I'm ignoring him if he also sent me a text while I was away. I have an iPhone and my carrier is Verizon.
- When I receive text messages with emojis from an iPhone, why do the messages only appear partially? My phone is a "Verizon Samsung Intensity II" slide phone. (Also it's blue but that doesn't matter.) Also, if I'm included in an iPhone group chat (spoiled rich friends, but not snobby…), I get each posted message as a separate message, so I'll end up randomly with 67 unread messages clogging up my inbox.
- Text messages not received after being abroad (iPhone)? I was in Australia for three months and brought my Verizon iPhone 4 with me, although it did not work at all for calls/texts I used it as an ipod and camera. I was excited when I landed in the US to turn off airplane mode and receive a barrage of texts/voicemails but absolutely none came through. I know some where sent because people facebooked me asking why I wasn't replying. Any way I can find these text messages or are they lost for ever?

I have checked the service centre number which is correct, I have updated the ios software thing (I'm not too clever with Apple products but yes it's been updated).It says iMessage is waiting for activation but it has said this for ages now. I have tried absolutely everything with still nothing. I can make calls, use the internet, I can do everything else! I just can't send or receive text messages… Will someone please help me?
