IPhoto, imovie, etc not on my mac?

I recently had my OS reinstalled through best buy because my mac stopped working. They did not charge me or anything but this was a while ago. Today I wanted to take photos off my iphone using iPhoto but it is not there. Then I realized imovie, garageband, and all the iLife apps are not there! I read that there are two discs that come with the mac to reinstall software and apps, etc but I have the macbook pro with retina display that doesn't have an optical drive so no discs were provided… I don't want to buy iLife because it was free with my mac in the first place… If I bring my mac to the apple store, and tell them what happened, do you think they will put iPhoto, etc back on my mac?

You'll probably have to purchase iLife. When my mom upgraded to snow leopard she had to do the same
