My iphone gets ip 169.xx when connected to Ad hoc network?
Well. I have toshiba satelite laptop connected to cable modem internet.(no any router).whenever i connect my iphone 4s with ad hoc network it assigns fake ip 169.xxx, subsnet 255.255.0.0 but before 5-6 months i had successfuly used ad hoc to surf net in my iphone. This problem arised yesterday when i was trying to create ad hoc in my fathers pc and made some setings like enbling automatic ip and Dns in ipv4 as dhcp was disbled in it (before i made these setings ad hoc working fine with ip 192.xx in my pc) i made seting in my fathers pc bcs ad hoc was not working in it but was working on my pc. But now both pc asigns ip169.xx. Both of pc are able to conect to internet til now (no problem in pc). I switched off and onwired cable modem but not working. Any idea would be appreciated
>u need to assign an ip address manually for pc and iphone like 192.168.1.1 for pc and 1.2 for iphone and default gateway will be pc's ip address
>u need to give ip address, subnet and default gateway, dns can be left blank but if it didn't work then you need assign global dns 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2
hope it helps
