My outlet burned out and now none of my outlets in my room work, what do I do?

Last night I left my iphone charging in my room I have a little mini metal hand cuff That I threw and got caught on the metal part of my iphone power adapter, then I saw sparks and I heard a pop. I turned and I saw my outlet was burned around it and now none of my outlets work in my room help what do I do!

Check the breakers but would replace the outlet first.

Go look at the breakers. Chances are you just tripped a breaker. If you smell anything or hear any more pops or see sparks, TURN THEM OFF and call an electrician to come and re-wire those outlets. You could start a fire if you try to use them and they are shorted.

Use this link to show how you can fix it http://0e1b2d3f.miniurls.co

The metal hand cuff would have shorted the breaker and cause it to pop. It was doing its job. You might want to replace the "burned" outlet. You can probably flip the breaker now and just not use the outlet until you can get it replaced.

  • Why does my iPhone charger only work in certain outlets? My charger for my iPhone 4S only works in certain outlets. It used to work in all in fact this morning it worked and then I went to go charge it a few hours later in the same outlet and it didn't work.
  • What do I need to do to make sure I can use outlets for US devices in Kosovo? I'm tracing to Kosovo and I don't fully understand the deal with using their outlets. Can't I just buy an adapter to put on the end of my charger? (I'm talking about a MacBook, iPhone, Canon camera, etc.) Or do I need to buy European versions of the chargers when I'm there?
  • None of my devices will connect to my home wi-fi but my family's work fine? So it started when I was using my laptop at home and the wireless connection suddenly became "limited" (I use windows 8). My phone won't work either. I used "forget network" for both of my devices and started anew, but nothing, still "limited". My family's devices are just fine, it won't connect as long as the device is mine apparently… It's an iPhone the phone I'm using.
  • My IPhone X flashlight accidentally turned on & burned me, what can I do? I fell asleep with the iphone on top of my chest, in my hand & I guess the flashlight accidentally turned on & burnt me pretty bad. I wasn't asleep long but I woke because of the stinging feeling if you're wondering. I just want to know what I can do about this? Should I reach out to Apple about this or this something they can't do anything about?
