Otterbox commuter or defender?

I have a black iPhone 4S and I been debating wether to get the white and gunmetal grey, defender or the black commuter. I have not rough with my phone, but I do not like have to have a broken iPhone. I heard some cons about both cases. And I was wondering what case I should get, listing the pros and cons.

Actually I think the only thing you can't compare is waterproof. Personally I think from the drop, slam, shock aspect, and the clearer pictures standpoint there's clearly an advantage to the Defender.
