Cracked iPhone 6 screen replacement advice?
I was out Saturday night when a guy accidentally slapped my iPhone out my hand and it cracked on the floor (despite it being in a protected case, evidently not protective enough). I called up a local shop and they said it would be £70. Apple are charging £86.55. BBC reported that on the latest update Apple have been able to tell if your phone has been tampered with via a third party therefore permanently blocking the phone with 'Error 53'. I also have a friend that offered to do it cheap but I'm wondering if it's worth it after reading all the reports on Apple blocking phones. £86 is a HUGE dent in my bank balance after paying the house rent, the screen is so cracked though that you can hardly read any writing on it. So I'm wondering if it's worth going to a third party? Or whether I should go to Apple? Has anyone had their phone screen replaced via a third party since the update and it's been okay? It's just very unclear on the specifics Apple mean when talking about the repairs through third parties.
