Now my iPhone 5 is stuck on an iTunes prompt?

I went to download iOS 8, which should have come out about 15 minutes ago. All I saw was an old software update I never bothered to do, 7.1.2 I think. So I tried to update, and my phone shut off and then a prompt displayed saying I should connect the phone to my computer and open iTunes. So I did that, and I keep getting an alert that the iPhone update servers could not be contacted. Now my phone is virtually useless ;-; my lock button doesn't even work half of the time, so I'm not so sure I can turn it off and back on again.

Added (1). Alright I did just manage to manually restart my phone. I saw it black out, I saw the Apple logo w/white background, and now I'm stuck on the iTunes prompt again.

How much money should I expect for my iPhone 5S?

It is…

- iPhone 5S, Unlocked, originally tmobile phone.
- White/Gold
- Spotless, used with case and screen protector & gentle use
- Comes with box and all acccessories new/unused… Earbuds, charger, etc.

How much should I expect to get for it now? And what about in November?

I want to replace my old I pod?

I only want to store music on it, a large amount say 1500 - 2000 songs, I need it to sync with my iTunes so music downloaded on my I phone and I pad are also on the I pod. I don't want a 5th gen one as I only want music on it, not all the other features as I already have an I phone and I pod. What can I get?

Can my job force me to miss a day of school last minute?

I work for a phone company part time while in college full time.

I go to work after school is over with 5-6 days a week.

They know school is my first priority and they knew that before they hired me and another employee.

The iPhone 6 comes out Friday and they told us they we're required to miss school no matter what although we usually come afterwards with no problem. They told us if we have a problem we should submit letters of resignation because the company is the main priority not school.

I know this is a big deal to the company but they are not trying to meet us half way at all. It's just me and another employee. They will have 23 other employees on the clock yet they are not willing to make an exception for 2 people.

Is the right? What should I do?
