I have an iPhone 8 and I use an app called sleep cycle that records my sleep. Last night the app was recording my sleep while charging?

I woke up around 1 AM and I felt something super hot so I think it was my phone. I look over and either my phone was smoking or the outlet so I immediately unplugged everything. My guess was that since the app is drawing electricity from the phone battery throughout the night and the phone is charging it kinda got screwed up. Does anyone know what might've happened? Another guess is that my pillow probably got caught in the outlet since I have a huge pillow that covers it.

Anything I can jam in between the iPhone6 silent button?

I need the silencer to stay on so my phone doesn't go off when I use my camera so I'm thinking jaming something between the button so it stays on silent since it keep turning off. The button is broke, I just need to fix it for school so no one stares at me while I take pictures.

Is Google working with the US government?

I forgot my Google account password today, and try to recover using a verification code that was sent to my IPhone. The number on my iPhone read: Washington DC. What's going on here?
