IPhone completely submerged in water?
This is probably going to be an incredibly bizarre story, but I promise this is the situation I'm in and I need help.
For the past few summers, my friends and I have made it almost a tradition to go out to a canal close by and catch ducklings. It's stupid and we shouldn't do that, I know. I've gotten the schpeel before. Today since it's warming up we went out to go get some, and a particular black duckling had made it pretty close to the shore so naturally i grabbed my butterfly net and went forward to get it. I was leaning in, and usually the shore is pretty firm so I wasn't worried about falling, but I was stupid and totally forgot about my phone at the time.
Long story short the ground gave way and I tumbled into the dirty canal water face first. Not only did I get a mouthful of the water, but my iPhone 5 in my front pocket did too. Of course my first reaction was to lift it out suddenly and raise it above water, so I saved it from being submerged for more than the 2 seconds it took for me to overcome the shock of the cold water nearly drowning me.
The duckling got away, so it wasn't even worth falling into the canal. Boo.
Anyways, I walked home (about 10 minutes) and immediately removed the leather case and put it in rice. It's been there for about 3 and a half hours. I just now removed the sim card, the screen protector, and the button sticker to see if that would help. I'm just worried about my iPhone and I'm wondering if my phone has any hope.
