Tips on waking up when dealing with severe insomnia?
I have delayed sleep disorder and a very erratic sleep pattern, so I'm usually up for 2, 3 days and then end up falling asleep for 4-8 hours (sometimes longer). When I do sleep, It's deep sleep so I don't hear the alarms I set on my iphone, ipad, alarm clock, watch, etc. Because of that I've completely screwed up my education, work, social life, and health.
I know the best way to ensure waking up is getting enough sleep, but I'm incapable of doing so. I'm hoping someone has some helpful tips.
So far, I've been told taking ambien speeds up your sleep cycle and makes it easier to wake up after it wears off (it's usually 4 hours or so).
