My iphone isn't turning on

About a week ago my top button stopped working, and thats fine because i got the way to manually turn it off etc. And i know that if you turn it off without a working top button, the way to turn it back on is by putting it on a charger and it should automatically turn back on.
but i was using my phone and put it down for a few moments while it was charging, and now its just not turning on and i tried charging it again.
i can't restore it or anything because i don't have itunes anymore, plus i haven't backed it up in weeks.
i've had it on charge for a while now and my computer picks it up when its plugged in, but its just not turning on?

Astrologically, when will my attempts to be financially independent succeed?

I have had setbacks in all my previous attempts at completing college graduation and in becoming financially independent.

Now i have completely abandoned the idea of pursuing graduation (though just 5 papers are pending), out of mental fatigue. Since a little over then a year now i'm pursuing iPhone application development on my own from home and progress is at a snail's pace and with lots of big breaks, owing to either focus break or bad health (sinus problems) or mental fatigue.

I want to know as to astrologically when will i finally get financially independent? What do i need to do about it? And whether what i'm doing right now is the right path or not? Also, is it advisable to buy an office for work or keep working from home until i have had some success?
Most important question is "when" will i get financially independent?

In addition, why do Atheists have no moral objections to using Apple products?

Most of apple products are
1) harmful to the environment in it's production and it's disposal
2) minerals for iphones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 6, funded the deadliest war since WWII. Over 5 million people were killed in the democratic republic of Congo to obtain minerals to make iphones ipads.
3) Apple sells proprietory software that infringes on users' freedom

these are just a few of the evils apple as a company does and continues to do. I'm not even counting slave labor used to manufacture their products and pollution done to entire towns' soil and rivers in making these.

How can any person be a good person if they use apple products?

Added (1). Dark Passenger: Apple computers are PC's. Don't' buy into their propaganda that 'Microsoft' is a PC. PC is personal computer. The Operating System is something else.

Can i paint a plastic iPhone with model paint?

I have an old plastic iPhone 3g.
I don't use it as a phone because i can't afford a data plan, but i use it for music and stuff.

Its whole life its never had a case, so the rear plastic cover is shot. Its scratched and worn.

I have a ton of model paint for plastic model car and planes, and i was wondering if it would work on the iPhone rear shell?

Would it stick? Would it scratch and flake too easily? Would it be smoth and glossy? Would it have ugly brush stokes?

Its a black i phone and i want to paint it white. Would that work at all or would it be too hard to cover black with white? Should i sand it first? What can i practice on? A plastic spoon?

Presents for a student graduating from college?

So I'm trying to figure out christmas present ideas for my daughter. She's 22 and just had her birthday so she got most of what she wanted than. Each year I get her at least one big gift about for around $150. The thing is she's pretty good with money and just buys something when she needs it and so is very hard to shop for. She's very into technology and academic things, but when I mentioned one year about a barnes and nobles gift certificate, which I thought she would love, she mentioned that she didn't bother buying books there anymore and just bought things on amazon. Another year I mentioned a kindle and she said she was saving up to buy an ipad and not to bother getting her one because she'd rather buy the ipad herself. She's graduating this year so I want to get her something she can use after college.

I just ended up giving her money for her birthday because she mentioned there were a few things she wanted on amazon for her birthday and said she would just order them herself. I don't want to do that for Christmas because it seems so impersonal. She's really not into clothes or makeup so anything fashion related wouldn't be good. I also want to avoid gift certificates. She has a laptop, ipad, and iphone and has mentioned to me that she is more than content with her things and doesn't need any other technology related things.

Any gift ideas would be great. I'm really stuck on this. It almost seems like I don't know my own daughter anymore because her tastes seem to be moving more and more online and her interests seem harder and harder to pin down.
