Okay, long story short. So I'm going on a High School trip for three days soon, and I really want to be able to contact my family. We're allowed to take our iPhone's but we have to take out the SIM cards. Is there any way I can contact my family without one?

I'm pretty smart with computers! And really smart with iphones, ipods and ipads i know how to do alot like jailebreak, unlock, update ios, and setup everything and fix it when anyones breaks! I'm 13 i know stuff like that and at school i know how to shutdown other peoples computers using command and i'm learing now how to boot peoples facebook and stuff so more advanced! What age and what's the next step to do if i wanna become an computer I T person?
How do I backup the files I have on my iPhone before I update my iOS version? I want to do it because I want to unjailbreak my iPhone. It's so stupid because you can't update you iOS version without unjailbreaking it. I decided to unjailbreak it and never jailbreak it again.
I have done it before. I have connected it to my computer, and put songs onto my phone through itunes. But now for some reason, it won't connect to my computer, and it won't open in itunes. This is really starting to tick me off. What can i do?
Added (1). I connected to my computer last time, and it connected fine and connected to itunes. Now with the same cable, it will just start charging when i connect in to my computer but it will not connect to itunes. I have tried different cables but that doesn't seem to work either. I don't know what's going on here.

I just updated my iPhone and I can't connect to iTunes anymore. It says I have to update the version of the iTunes itself first. Is everything on my iTunes gonna be deleted if I update it to the latest? Really hoping for replies, thank you so much! Xx
