Note 8 auto screen on?

Iv upgraded (or down graded depending what you like) from a iPhone 7 plus to a note 8. With my iPhone the screen would automatically come on when I look at my phone, with the note 8 I have to push the side button to turn the screen on, is there a feature hidden in the settings to auto turn on the screen when I look at my phone?

The other day, I dropped my iPhone 5s in the toilet. It was only in there for 2 seconds but it shut off anyway. I tried to turn it back on (I later learned that it was a mistake) but it didn't. I put it in rice for a day and pulled it out but it still doesn't work?

How to back up my iPhone to transfer photos and contacts?

I had a 5c and just bought an 8. The problem is that my 5c I used my dad's apple account and with the 8 I will be making my own so I can't use iCloud. I have never backed up my phone (yeah, that one alert you get every week to back up your iPhone? I was easily over 150 weeks…) so how do I do it? I have a Mac. Also, I want to transfer over everything EXCEPT music. Is there a way to choose what I transfer to the 8 or do I have to transfer everything over and then delete the music? Its 10 gb I just want it to stay on my 5c, its my dad's music and I have my own Spotify I will use on the 8.

Should I update my iPhone 5s to iOS 11?

When I tried to update my phone to iOS 9 when it came out it broke my phone, and I don't want it to happen again. Has iOS 11 been successful for you so far on your 5s?

IOS 11 major bugs. What do I do?

I recently updated my iPhone 6s to ios 11. Huge mistake. These are the bugs.
1) Occasionally, the phone will start glitching (turns black) and it keeps doing that until I turn it off.
2.) My phone is frozen. Right now it is. There's one notification at the top of my phone and it won't go away. It won't me sign in at all and I can't shut it down. I tried using my mac to shut it down but I need to allow access from my phone which I can't do.
