Att and Verizon not charging me a deposit?

I wanted to see what the deposit would be with att and Verizon and after I put all my information it didn't ask me for a deposit? Those that mean I don't have to pay for the deposit? I tried with sprint and it did ask me for a $200 deposit. BTW I want the iPhone 5.
Any help thanks

What is this mysterious substance that keeps appearing on my carpet?

Here's a picture. It looks a lot like pepper grains, except it just keeps coming back! I vacuumed it up yesterday, and 24 hours later, it's back. It vacuums very easily, which makes me think it's on the surface of the carpet. There are no holes or defects in the walls or ceiling.
It's actually really creepy.
I would really appreciate if someone can identify this for me and suggest how I can get rid of this! (sorry it's really bad resolution because I took the picture from my iPhone)
We live in an apartment on the top floor of Los Angeles, no pets, and I'm pretty sure no one is deliberately pouring pepper on the carpet.

Added (1). image

here's a picture of the individual grains -- i dabbed at it with carpet cleaner which is why there's a wet spot. They're really easy to pick up, are about 1mm in length.
WHAT IS THIS SORCERY!

Added (2). I popped one with the edge of my fingernail, it's really hard, almost like sand, but with pressure, it fragments into pieces and gives off a distinctive mineral like, musky or spicy smell. I don't think i should do that again, it can't be good.

How much would an iPhone 4 cost with Att?

I'm just looking into things, but how much would an Iphone 4 cost with unlimited text for sure, and if there's an unlimited data plan, that too? I rarely use calling, so about 20 minutes a month would cover me there.

I would like to know the cost of:
-iPhone 4 (isn't it $0.99?)
-Activation fee
-Unlimited text
-As much data as needed (How much is MB and GB?)
-about 10 minutes of calling per month

Where can I find this information if it's out there?

Finally, If you don't like the iPhone, why not, and what is another affordable touchscreen phone that has internet, apps, and a good camera?

How to unlock iphone 5 using r-sim 7+?

Ok, surfing the 'net seems that r-sim 7+ doesn't work very well with the iP5 Sprint and GSM sims.
How many of you got to unlock it?
I've tried with R-Sim 7, with the 7+, but the result was a pity: always "searching" and no way to get connect. Different sims, different providers, nothing, nada!

I hate the 2000's and I want to go back to the 80's?

I'm so tired of the 2000's. I'm tired of everything always being "improved" and all this new high technology. I want the old days back. Before 9/11. Before the ressetion. I want simple times back. Simple, classic tv shows, no huge fear of terrorists, no touch screens, no iPhones, no smart boards. I want reality back. Anyone else feel the same?

How long should I keep my iPhone in rice after water damage?

About 3 hours ago, I dropped my phone in the bath tub. Within half a second I got it out, dried it and put it in rice. It does turn out but it also is spastic. How long should I keep it in rice or is there a better way I can fix this?

Added (1). On* not out.

Difference between all these Verizon date plans?

I'm not tech savvy at all. Now that I'm finally due for an upgrade, I'm going to get an iphone 4 cause it is free with a 2 year contract if I get it through the internet. Then they wanna know what data plan i want. 2gb, 5gb, 10gb, among other. What the heck is the difference between these?

Is the app CocoPPa dangerous for iDevices?

I wanna change all my apps with CocoPPa, but I hear it can cause problems on your iPhone/iPod/iPad so I don't wanna risk it.
Has anyone who's tried it encountered any problems?
