Iphone 4 won't restore in recovery mode

I jailbroke my iphone last night and everything was fine until i turned my iphone off. When i tried to turn it back on it went to the apple logo sign and won't go past that. I researched it and people said hold down the sleep/home button together to get it into recovery mode. It then said on my phone to connect to itunes but itunes just won't detect my phone. I've tried doing it several times but it just won't connect and i don't know what to do!

What is the cheapest way to get an iPhone 5 on contract?

Because my current contract is going to run out soon, I was looking online to see how much an iPhone would be on contract. I know it's expensive, but I do not need anymore than 300 minutes, however I'll need a minimum of 2, 000 texts. How to use an iPhone w/o a data plan?

My friend's Mom bought the iPhone 5 for AT&T so she's getting rid of her iPhone 4 that was on Verizon. They said that I could have the hand me down phone since I have the same carrier (Verizon), but my parents don't want to pay for data.
I know two people who have an iPhone and use it without the data plan, but I don't know how? They have everything like calling and texting, and can use Internet when they're in a free-Wi-Fi area like an iPod. That's all I want, I don't need to use Internet everywhere I go!
Can anyone explain the process of how to use an iPhone without having to get the data plan please?

Why won't the Apple store allow me to see my updates?

I have an iPhone 3GS on iOS 6.1.2, and I'm having trouble with the app store. I can download new apps, and I can see the red number 4, letting me know that I have 4 new updates. However, the updates section stays blank and will not show me what apps need to be updated! What do I do! Is anyone else having this problem!
