How to delete photos on iphone?

When I first got my iPhone 4, I synced itunes with it, and I had a ton of pictures on iTunes I didn't know were there. Their original spot was on my Picasa program. Somehow they got on iTunes and all of them went to the iPhone. So how do I get them off there? They take up so much room that I can only shoot a couple of pictures and then the "no more space" message comes up on the iPhone. But it doesn't said anything on iPhoto on how delete unwanted pics, either in photos or iPhoto. Do I delete them from iTunes or is there a way to delete them from the phone?

Added (1). Yeah, Mr. Condescension (Ray). I didn't say delete photos in camera roll. I said synced photos on iPhotos or just the Photos folder. So what it sounds like is that yes, I can delete from the camera roll, and I can't delete other photos which came from the computer on my phone. I have to delete the ones that came from the computer, on the computer itself, right? With an empty folder. Ok, got it. Ray, you said everything but sheeesh!

Clearing an applications cache/data on iPhone 5?

I want to clear my apps data/cache cause the apps themselves aren't taking a lot of space but the data & cache are. On my android phone I'd just have to go to settings>applications>manage applications then click on whatever app & press clear data & clear cache. I'm not sure how to on the iphone

Volume buttons on iPhone 4s not working?

So the volume buttons on the side of my iPhone when pressed will bring up the speaker icon, but will not adjust the volume. I get no sound at all, unless I go into the iPhone app general settings and play with the volume there. The change volume with buttons setting is on, so I know that is not the problem. I have tried restarting the phone, I'm in the midst of trying a hard reset, as much as I hate to do it. If that doesn't work, I have run out of options. Anyone have any advice on this issue?

I have an iPhone 4S and my big brother is strict about my phone that he put restrictions on and for some reason I can't change iCloud or FaceTime or phone settings. And it asks for his password. So I just want to know if he can see iMessages that were deleted?
