Water damaged iphone
Alright ill give you a quick background,
I went to sleep and left a cup of water on my bedside little shelfy-thing along with my iPhone 4s. Sometime in the night i knocked over the cup of water onto my phone and it pooled by the phone. The phone was just far enough into the water i know it got wet. When i woke up (I went to bed around 5:30am i believe and awoke around ten) The phone was turned off and it was wet. The thing that makes me a little more hopefully is i don't generally move around much when i'm sleeping until i'm about to wake up so i'm hoping i knocked it over not long before i woke up. (the phone was almost dead when i went to bed so it may have died before i ever spilled the water on it, i don't know if that would effect anything at all) anyways so i awoke to this disaster and immediately dried it off and went to the store to get rice. I put it in the bag of rice and sealed the bag. I then called verizon to ask the what i should do, they told me to do exactly what i had done and leave it for at least 24 hours and it should work. I left it untouched for 24 hours but when i took it out it didn't turn on or light up when i tried to turn it on and the same when i plugged it in. I read more and people suggested sticking it in the rice longer. I have now left it around 48 more hours and i want to try it again tomorrow afternoon when it will be the full 48 extra. I'm wondering what you guys think the chances are this phone will survive? I'm a broke college student and I'm really hoping it makes it… Also what are the chances if it does survive i will have the messages i received before and after its swim? I had some important messages from work that i really need to get to and i'm stressing a little about when or not they will be there or not! If this does not work is it worth it to buy a water damage revival kit? I've heard of people doing that and it working so i want to know if its worth the 25 bucks. What I'm really wondering is what are the chances it will work from the rice alone and if the rice doesn't work what else can/should i do? Anything possible to save this phone would be great. I know insurance doesn't cover water damage so I'm wondering what i should do.
