My laptop can't connect to Wi-Fi?
When I try to connect my laptop to my Wi-Fi router, it says "Windows was unable to connect to this network." I know there are about a million of these posts, and let me assure you, I have read about a hundred of them before posting this.
To clarify, all of my other devices (Desktop, iPhone, Kindle) can connect to the network. Also, my laptop can potentially connect to other networks in the area(they are password protected, so I can't be sure). I was also able to create an adhoc with my desktop and the laptop connected just fine.
Things I have tried already:
1. Removed the network from my saved network profiles (under Manage wireless networks).
2. Disabled and then enabled network adapter
3. Uninstalled network adapter and rebooted.
4. Reset modem/router (several times).
5. Tried this:
Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:
Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults.netsh int ip reset reset.log
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog
Reboot the machine.
Still, nothing works… Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, one more thing. When I go to cmd.exe and type ipconfig/all, DHCP is enabled.
