Recently my iPhone stopped allowing me keep YouTube sound playing in the background?
I used to be able to exit YouTube and pull up my utilities page and hit play and now the YouTube video disappearing. Is this just a new way to force you into getting YouTube red?

- YouTube won't play in background? IPhone 4? I have an iPhone 4 and I can't get my YouTube to play in the background like when I hit the home button it turns off or when I lock it and press play it will play from my album from iTunes. I use the YouTube app. How can I get it to work?
- Why can't i play youtube videos in background/lock screen on my iphone anymore? I always used to be able to do this, is there any way to still do it? Or is there any way to get an older version of the app that will alow me to do it? And does anyone know why they stopped this function? Very frustrating!

When I try playing the video after going to home screen (I have an iphone) and press play, it just plays music from apple music. Is there any way I can play youtube videos in background or when phone js locked? I would appreciate it. I can't find anything online where someone has the same problem:/
